(are u a fellow Boisein, or just wondering for some weird reason)

[/ QUOTE ]

The idea of some random dude from Dallas or L.A. or Detroit asking about 'live poker in Boise??' because he just happens to be curious struck me as really amusing for some reason.

It's a Mormon run state - does that answer your question?

Are you thinking of Utah?

I too was unaware that Idaho has a preponderance of mormons.

I hadn't even considered the idea that he somehow might be confusing Idaho with Utah.

Utah certainly has the most. But other western states have quite a few as well. Have heard Arizona has a large Mormon poulation, and hearing Idaho does isn't really surprising.

And don't forget Nevada. Lot's of Mormons working in the casino industry in Nevada....or at least that is what I have heard.

Go figure...

The wild Horse Casino in Pendleton, OR. According the Mapquest, a 3 1/2 hr drive up I-84.

Tom McEvoy has written some Cardplayer articles about the semi-annual poker tournaments at the Wild Horse. Supposedly a pretty good place to play poker.

According to their website, their max rake is $2.

Don't bother. It's true that they get a big draw for the spring and fall poker roundup, but the room is a dud. I swung by there on my way through hoping to play a few hours, and the room is tucked away on the side, there were only three tables, and they didn't have any employees working the room, only pit game employees on break watching the TV's. THis was a saturday evening. For the big tournaments they bring in tables and set them up in the bingo hall and conference room.
