nobu is very good and the prices aren't nearly as bad as people make them out to me. mesa grill is great. i think tamarind is overrated for indian but good if you want a "nice restaurant" indian experience. avoid kittichai at all costs. search for nobu and you'll probably find 80 ny restaurant threads.

really anything and everything, but i like pretty spicey food so let's say thai/indian in the 20-40 for a meal range
