King Yao's shorthanded section is the best discussion of 6 max poker I've seen in a book. I wish he had written more.

i believe he's working on a book solely on shorthanded play right now.

i don't know how good that is...if it's true that Miller's book is transforming SS holdem, who knows what this might do. Scary to think how the very first book on 6max can change the landscape.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but is it correct to call from the BB with any 2 cards against a steal raise and a SB call?

no. you're only getting 5:1 here. Quite a few hands I throw away.

FWIW - I used to always 3-bet or fold the SB vs. a steal-raise. I'm actually cold-calling very rarely now although I should probably just go back to 3-bet or fold.

No way if the raiser is loose, as is the BB and both are bad after the flop but you don't have showdown value. Like with QJs, I semi-cold-call here.

Microbob -

Spend some time with one of the hand analysers and assemble your three betting range along with the openers stealing range and then just add in 3rd player with a random hand and see what htat does to pot equity. It becomes pretty apparent that making it heads up is much more valuable to you than the 3rd bet preflop.

curious what others have as a 3-betting range from SB vs. a button steal (obviously depends on looseness of button and BB...but I'm still curious)
