I would check the turn unimproved, but as you improved, the turn bet is standard IMO. [/ QUOTE ] Oddly enough I think I'm more reluctant to bet the turn now that I improved. |

Re: QJs
Seems automatic, but I would often check the flop if their are a couple good tags in this pot. Say it gets checked through on the flop, and SB bets out, I would usually call down. However, if it gets checked to you on the turn after taking this line, it's a bet.

Re: QJs
The flop decision looks close. You can't bet the flop into three players on fold equity alone. You need outs or a chance to have the best hand. You have just a little of each.
You have to bet the turn. Checking isn't even worth a mention. |

Re: QJs
After re-evalution, I think there is merit to checking the turn through. Reason being, if you're behind to a king you are drawing dead, it sucks to get check-raised especially if the c/r'er is laggy. If you're ahead, you are probably giving up three or less outs to an A, and you won't get anyone to fold their backdoor flush anyway. Maybe you can induce an A high or PP to bluff on river who may have folded on the turn if you had bet. I think I would take this line often since my flop bet didn't scare anyone out of the pot, and I get to see a cheap showdown.
To me, the texture of this hand implies that SB had the king all along and played it very slow so as to keep the other players in the pot, but the pot is large so the river call is worth it. |

Oddly enough I think I'm more reluctant to bet the turn now that I improved. [/ QUOTE ] You really bet more often unimproved with 2 hanger-ons, than you do in the given situation? I just see at least one of them having a king or a pair they want to call down with and aren't going to change their minds mid stream. For the actual hand I'd check behind b/c I'd like to be able to fold to a raise if I'm betting that turn, and I don't want to do that without any reads. Admittedly, I am a showdown whore who is prone to leave bets on the table at times. |

Re: QJs
I was just thinking of it this way: which one puts me in a worse spot when I am raised?
