I agree with most people here. No one has shown any aggression. You raised preflop and bet out on ever street. You are representing a strong hand. Most people would probably put you on AK. Once the non flush card hits on the river, I would still bet it representing trips with a high kicker. Anyone else with a K won't fold, but if they have a K, it is probably a weak K and will just call your bet versus reraising you. Anyone without the K will fold their busted draws. My point - I see it as a higer EV to bet the river and fold if someone does raise then to check/fold.

horrid, horrid fold. seriously. what makes you even slightly suspect they have a king? the fact that they never bet all hand?

i actually like check/call as well as bet, if the guy was on clubs, u gained an extra bet with the check-call

The river better showed down a total bluff, and the caller showed KT, my fold was good...
I was curious as to how the forum posters would see this, I figured most would say to call here, but I just felt like I was no good... in future spots I guess I may call here as to not risk the entire pot when Im wrong |

The only way im checking the river here is to check call in order to snap off a bluff. Maybe a busted flushdraw or someone getting cute with a smaller pair. I would have lead the river though.

You are aware that just because this

[/ QUOTE ] is not necessarily correct, right? [/ QUOTE ] I am aware of this... what ends up good in one situation may not be profitable in the long run. I dont remember what I was thinking at the time at the table, but the table had been very passive and I was running it basically, so I felt like I was good there after the bet and the call less of the time than I needed to make the call. It just screamed "Hellmuth laydown" ... these are the types of thinking folds I am trying to start making... not just pissing away a bet when you are beat because you have AA and it has some microscopic chance of being good, but replaying the hand, and when I did that I decided that anything besides a K wouldnt make any sense here so I folded. On the other hand, Im not exactly a weak player, against a dope the other day it got down to a blind war with me in the SB, he autocapped me, flop came A high, and we went 3 bets on the flop and then I called him down all the way. Winning hand?? My K2o for king high no pair. So just cause this hand looks very weak it doesnt automatically make me a donk who cant play does it?? I didnt see calling to be profitable here so I tossed em... |

Given the way the hand played out i would see my chances of being good closer to astronomical then microscopic but that's just me
Folding in this spot longterm is very much -EV i think. |
