Re: Bankroll questions, semi-new limit player
id play 2/4, if you run real badly move down, but for the most part party 2/4 is easier than party 1/2 anyway, and a grand should be enough to get you started
edit: my bad just realized you are on stars, i havent played much there, but id still start at 2/4, but thats just cuz i hate grinding for meaningless amounts of money, you may be different |

Re: Bankroll questions, semi-new limit player
[ QUOTE ]
So, does everyone think I should move the 1k to PartyPoker and play 1/2 there? Can low limit be profitable on Stars? [/ QUOTE ] In my experience, the players on 1/2 & 2/4 Stars are generally tighter preflop than their Party counterparts, but just as bad postflop. So I don't think you're giving up a whole lot by sticking with Stars for the time being. If/when you do move to the Party skins, get a rakeback deal for Empire rather than joining Party itself. Assuming you don't already have a Party/Empire account on your computer. |

Re: Bankroll questions, semi-new limit player
Hey good luck with your adventures in LHM. I would reiterate what everyone else has said. Use Pokertracker and PokerAceHUD. The 1/2 games are very very soft on party especially at peak hours so I would start with those as you ease yourself into LHE. Whoever says the 2/4 games are easier is crazy. As you move up in Limits table selection becomes more and more important. PokerAce is very useful for this. Good luck LHE is kind of tough to adjust to, I used to be a NL guy myself. Read SSHE, read the 2+2 boards and you will have no worries.

Re: Bankroll questions, semi-new limit player
You should play 1/2 for a while and bonuswhore (bounce between varies sites as they offer bonuses. For example, Paradise is running a bonus this weekend). You can build up some money pretty quickly by doing that. Do that for a month or two and then move to 2/4 depending on how you are feeling. You may also want to try the $25 and $50 buyin NL games.
