I voted no. I think they should be posted on internet, news views, etc. only allow if it's a strategy post

Please post them elsewhere, folks. Strategy is one thing; wanting to know who's winning and how much is strictly WPT-forum hero-worship-gossip BS.

I think the railbird posts are pretty lame, but I don't think they need to be moderated away. If there is no interest in them, they'll fall off the board soon enough. Make a railbirding forum if it bothers you--I wouldn't mind at all.

i feel pretty strongly the same way. i think that moving them out of this forum and into wpt or nvg would be reasonable, but once you start doing something like getting rid of them all, it's over-moderation. the idea that there will ever be all strategy in any of the strategy forums is pretty far fetched, even though this one does have an admirably high signal to noise ratio.

Also, look the replies to this thread already - all saying no, these threads shouldn't be allowed.

Looks like the railbirds like to railbird polls too.

If you look at the WPT/Internet forum here and there, at least yesterday, I saw a Phil vs Prahlad thread, etc... so I imagine I wouldn't move as many of them as I would just delete/lock them, so they don't clutter the top of the page....

basically, i think that the ones that read like this can probably be done without.

the ones that are just announcements of high stakes interesting matchups are pretty reasonable.

your subject line may skew the results as people who would vote no may not even read this post as they might think it is just another one of the said posts that they hate

i think that having basically an announcement per forum that it's related to is reasonable, and that say, in this forum, people might want to discuss hands that occur in such a match. my policy at least when i've had to lock things that i see in too many places at once is to put a post in the thread with a link to the other location, and then lock it. ymmv

Ok sometimes they're stupid but sometimes they can be interesting especially for people who arent going to spend their time watching other people play but dont mind reading about key hands.

Plus it's not the case that these hands can never generate discussion or that nothing can be learned from them.

IMO if we're going to try to eliminate certain types of posts from the forum we should start with the "how do I play top set here?" and "i have nut flush but theres a str8 flush possible!!!" posts.
