since its a loose passive table I dont hate the first in call with Q9s from early position but I dont like it either even though slansky charts say its a call. you wont lose much by folding preflop though so thats probably my line here given your first in.....a raise after you will make it expensive to see a flop on a speculative hand Given you didnt get raise on the flop/turn Im not convinced there is an ace out but if there is this is a good case to make a note about the callers passiveness with top pair (if I have an ace I'd be reraising you on the flop to see if you got one too) anyway I like the turn bet as long as you are prepared to give it up if meeting heavy resistance. river check is ok for me since you wont be folding hands better than you but I expect youll be calling a river bet. cant wait to see the result.... |

Agreed. You're behind any A too often here.

cant wait to see the result.... [/ QUOTE ] Results in white below: I'm having trouble finding the original hand history at the moment. But, after I checked, they both checked after me. One had a low pair, the other ended with nothing and had been going for a straight. |

hooray for our hero
so in answer to your original question "did I wimp out on the river? " I think no since most of the time the hand that calls you is the hand that beats you and the busted draws are folding...if the pair of 6s calls thats great but most of the hands that call here will be beating you....or worse youll be faced with a race....anyway nice work on sussing out the loose passive table so you can work your 2nd pair. |

Grunch:
Would someone call with a worse hand? - Not likely. Could you fold out a better hand? - No way. Checking is fine. |
