I dont even know how much 'value' your bet can have. It would either have to be so small that it would hardly be worth the risk, or too big to get called by KQ.
The hands you are ahead of that get played this way? KT? KQ-AQ? Quite a few more that you are behind. I think the best play is to check it down. If the river was a non-spade T, I am much more comfortable with a value bet. Even more so with a total blank (but I dont see the T being too scary for you). |

I would not value bet this river. His check call on the flop and turn reeks of a draw. The 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] was a double whammy. It could have completed his flush or a straight. This is a classic case of, he calls or reraises only when you are beat. He won't call your bet with nothing, he is only calling with a hand on the river.
If the river was a blank, then a probably would value bet the river and make a crying call if he reraised you. A check behind here is the sensible play. I can't see value betting the river. Stipe |
