Re: Pocket fives
fold. you could raise if you thought it would isolate pfr, but BB has already called. this is a fold.

The preflop raise makes calling better, not worse. [/ QUOTE ] I was just implying that even if the pfr doesn't have a Q or a J or a 7, that someone probably does. Sure the raise helped make the pot big, but I don't think it made it big enough to call for a 2 outer. |

But all of the reasons you were pointing at were making this closer to a call than a fold. You want (*NEED*) lots of players and a preflop raiser to peel for an undercard set. You're folding this flop basically 100% in a small pot situation (QJx = very bad combination for underpairs). There are just too many bad things about this flop texture for you to want to continue. |

Re: Pocket fives
yea you want lots of players, meaning lots of bets to give you odds for your set.
But with 4+ players the chances that a Q or J is out there is higher, so unless you have odds, this is an easy fold, as all the cards on the flop are beating your 55's. Thats all I was saying. But, meh, who cares, I know what your saying. |

Re: Pocket fives
With 66 and below I like to wait and see what kinda pot I'm gonna get before I play them so EP I usually chuck this. But once your in you should call Buttons raise. This is why I drop them early because I wanna see a multiway flop cheaply with them.
You have 2 outs and the board has a straight draw or two on it so you might hit your set on the turn and loose on the river. Let it go now and ask yourself "man why didn't I avoid this hassle and fold this preflop?" |

Re: Pocket fives
I would seriously not raise this hand.
but you should fold after the flop because the odds of you improving your hand (2 5's) are 22 to 1. Pot odds are 10.5 to 1. Autofold. |
