[ QUOTE ] For starters, not 3-betting the turn. [/ QUOTE ] I think I can find a fold there. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I definitely should have found one. |

[/ QUOTE ] I would just dump to the turn raise. A J fills villain up if he has QJ; if he doesn't you probably aren't getting much action on the river anyway, maybe two bets at most. Your overs are no good if villain has a Q and you might be reverse dominated by AT/KT (but I'd expect villain to have raised the. You're already drawing dead to QT. You're getting immediate odds of 7.5:1 with little in implied odds. It's hard to find a favorable situation for you here. |

Villian showed down 22 for a flopped boat.

[/ QUOTE ] Jason's point is right in my opinion. 7.5 -1 with basically no implied (not because we won't get paid off when we hit, but because often when we hit we'll pay off and lose), we need like 6 outs or so in order to continue. The 4 gutshot outs are quite dirty because J's and 10's are often played with Qs. If villain has a Q we have no overcard outs. Our overcards are probably clean against anything but a Q, but some of our cards might also be tied up in villain's hand. Basically, some times we'll have 9ish outs and sometimes 3-4ish and sometimes 0. I think expecting an average of 6 is optimistic at best. A turn fold is in order. And a turn three-bet is symptomatic of money-hating. |
