agreed, stop looking at it as whether you want to 'gamble', just put him on a range of hands and decide whether it's +EV or -EV to call. Obviously you'd rather be raising here, but that doesn't make it wrong to call.

I've just finish both HOH's so excuse me if what I've gathered from it so far is convoluted.
I think u have to call. Unless he has AA or KK your not a big dog! Your M is like 3.5. You have one move only fold or all in. Since your hand is very likely not a big dog & your short stacked & your guaranteed a chance to double up if you call, you have to call & hope for the best. If you folded and waited for a hand in a better position, you could end up going up against a monster or no one calls & all you get are the blinds. At this stage of the tourney u need to double up not just get blinds. Now maybe my jest of HOH applied to this hand is completely comvoluted, but that's what my thinking is. P.S. need to read the both a few more times. Awesome books BTW! |
