I guess it's pretty marginal either way. It's only 80 chips, but I'd definatly expect to lose.

I expected to lose and was pleasantly surprised; Villain had 79s.

As for the table read, I didn't want to have trouble getting away from an overcard flop by committing anymore chips. I was playing for a favorable flop, which is a little weak.

I think you should have raised more PF. Your position sucks and you gotta make up for it. I would have made it 200, or maybe 250, and maybe then you would only get one caller on teh flop.

This is a tough situation, I think you underbet the flop. A check here wouldn't have been awful. I would check here if I hit my A/K and probably raise all in. It's not uncommon to do so, so I think you get some information about villain if you do so. IE he's not going to bet it hard w/o a hand b/c he suspects you may be check/raising.

I dunno tho, this is one of the harder situations for me too.

I think this is more true if I'm in the blind and people are already in the pot. If I come in for 200 or 250, I have to make a bigger bet on the flop for my continue to be plausible. Any bet bigger than the one I made gets me really committed or short stacked if I fold.

I mean I'd love to see other people's thought's on this, but I really would have no problem raising to 200. If I win the blinds so be it, but AKs is a really suseptable hand and you have pretty bad position.

I advocate checking the flop in either your situation or if you'd bet 200. That way if someone goes all in and you dont hit a flop you can get out easy. But people expect a check/raise here, so they wont do it unless they have the goods. Then again I might be giving other players too much credit.
