How do you apply for moderatorship? I think I would make an excellent mod around here.

Your name was actually mentioned in the "nominate a mod" thread!

Unfortunately people thought it was a joke, for some reason.

Speak up! Make yourself heard!

Well, the fact that people thought me being a mod was a joke really surprises me. I honestly thought that my goodstanding rep would have landed me a mod tag for sure.

This is interesting, maybe I should contact Matthew Sklansky? If that doesn't work, maybe ill just try David, he seems to be more reasonable.

So now that you're a moderator for small stakes, does that mean you can never move up to bigger games?

[/ QUOTE ] Of course not! All he has to do is beat AZK in a $10k freezeout... then xorbie becomes M-H mod and AZK is forced to create "micro-limit NLHE" and mod it instead.

[/ QUOTE ]

Bring it. jk Congrats xorbie.

Please don't sticky the FAQ. Mat Sklansky issued a list of changes I need to make before it can be stickied. Wouldn't want you to get in trouble.

Do you want crappy bad bead posts locked? Just theredpill/"[censored] you all" threads?

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally I think you should use some judgment and only lock the first class of threads (bad beats, poker is rigged, I hate my life) when they are getting too much airtime.

If someone posts a bad beat, whatever. I'll read it once and then I'm done with the thread. If a few people flame it and it silently drops off of the first page, however, then I don't see the need to overmoderate.

If for some reason a content-free post keeps getting bumped, though, then lock it.

I also strongly support the idea of a forum split -- live hands vs. online hands -- but I know this isn't your responsibility or within your powers.

I say don't be too harsh on things. Knock out the profanity, lock the obvious troll threads (and give a reason to OP), and maintain the FAQ. The rest just let it be, marginal cases err on the side of not getting involved.

JMO.
