[/ QUOTE ] the real problem here is that you don't know where you're at preflop and you stand to get cornholed if someone good calls behind you and flops a set. the 3 bet fixes both of these problems. fim

Plus, if he's really tight, you have a very good chance of taking it down preflop or with a continuation bet unless he has AA or flops a set. If he does, you probably lose a lot by flat calling preflop anyway.
