He played it well.

No.

he's not expecting 88 to call an AQx flop after he cold capped then raise a J turn. his only mistake was expecting that you were playing reasonably, because he beats absolutely nothing reasonable on the turn. you have to have a set or maybe AK/AQ/AJ there every time

[/ QUOTE ]

Even if I have a lower set or an ace, he has 6 outs to a set or straight.

Edit: How many people here play reasonably against other 2+2ers? I thought I could get him to fold 99, TT, or KK, and I did. I got lucky he didn't have AA, QQ, JJ, or AK (he'd probably fold AQ to a raise and a 3bet).

ok you're right then. he could call there. but that's more of a reason for you to not raise

Agreed, I didn't realize KK or TT would have a gutshot, or I probably wouldn't have done this.

Just to support raising:

9 comboes of AA, QQ, or JJ. 12 comboes of AK. That's 21 hands that he never folds.

18 comboes of KK, TT, and 99. 18 comboes that he might fold given the fact that his call would be even EV or even slightly +EV and he usually has to fold the river UI.

This was more of a "let me have some fun with this guy" than "let me practice sound poker."

Those can't be clean outs. If you have AK (which is what you're representing), then a T give him a chop. If you have ATs then his set makes you a straight. I'd discount his outs (if you're sane, which you weren't) to about 4. His fold is not bad.

Agree, it's probably a razor thin call/fold on his part.

First, you did get lucky, because bet/3betting that would have been ungodly expensive. Second, I sat with Seth tonight and definitely pulled one move on him because he didn't know it was me .

Seth, you can PM me if you want.
