- should being back-offed numerous times and then stupidly trespassed be taken as a compliment to one's card counting ability?

[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe it just means you foolishly didn't tip enough, so they aren't going to cut you any slack.

[/ QUOTE ]

well i've personally never tipped a blackjack dealer ever... I hardly ever saw that when I used to play blackjack, except from people who thought it helps them get a better hand.. LOL what stupidity - the house has a large enough advantage as it is.. counting cards is a war of EV as is... why give away more...

I got trespassed last year at an Indian Casino. Just don't go back and yes, it meant that I couldn't go to any other their other casinos which they also owned. They stated that explicitly.

At a 5 to 25 spread, if you tip "enough" you will tip away your entire advantage.

Should be viewed as a lack of ability. Look there are a lot of guys who try to get barred just so they can say they have, they want people to believe they are "too good". While security in the clubs is a lot better than most people understand, the pit crew is generally not that bright. They need software to detect counters, and they usually won't even run that on a 5-25 spread unless you're waving your arms and announcing that you're a counter.

Face it, your friend is first an idiot for being 'spotted', and second for forcing the issue. I've been playing cards at 10x that level for near 30 years, and have only been backed off once -- and that was with a team. A good friend of mine is a retired Griffins detective, and he recalls following me several times -- but I/we always convinced them we weren't hustling. I you want to make a living gambling, getting in the book is about the dumbest thing you can do.

that's a good point.. with that spread.. is my friend ONLY banned from those groups of casinos and on their lists.. OR is he ALSO in the griffin book? I would honestly thing they wouldn't waste their time to submit him because of such low stakes..

It depends if they're subscribers. If they are, he's in the book.

LOL. I wondered if that was who you were talking about. Most paranoid casino in Vegas is Barbary Coast. That outfit is so cheap, it wouldn't surprise me to learn they don't subscribe.
