It has even less value in that scenario. Your hand is a dog and is much less likely to wind up the winner against multiple hands than two. Plus with more players in, an ace is more likely to be out. You will have to play your trash hand tentatively out of position even if you hit. Basically if you don't flop a wheel, trips, or two pair, you're not gonna be too comfortable.

I'd just fold preflop. TAG's raise is likely with a better hand than A3o.

I don't understand how you could call the turn facing a possible pocket pair, 3 overcards, and a flush draw vs. a good player.

Looks like you might have gotten lucky on the river huh?

um...it is the 3 of spades. Alot of his raising hands could contain a K and a bigger spade (not too far fetched). So you could likely be behind and drawing extremely slim, or drawing absolutely dead.

Whats your plan if a spade hits on the river? Bet out for value? Check and hope he bets a worse hand?

It sounds like you got lucky and drug the pot, if thats the case then woohoo (always feels good to play bad and get lucky), but this hand w/out the results was a disaster.

Even from the BB this is a clear fold preflop. From the small, calling is atrocious (yes I know its 2/3). I'd also bet the turn if the button is capable of checking behind with a bad hand that contains a spade. The river c/r is nice though.

Default OK, flame me for something else now......

Canterbury 15/30 (9 handed)
MP is a loose donk. Button is a TAG who plays pretty well. BB is rockish.

MP open limps, Button raises, I call in the SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], BB folds, MP calls.

Flop (3 players)(7SB): 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I check, MP checks, Button bets, I raise, MP folds, Button calls.

Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I check, Button bets, I call

River: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I check, button bets, I raise, Button calls. Well?

I actually am button in this hand with red KQ. I am always trying to look at other angles, and here I wanted to see in this pf call made any sense under any circumstance. My feeling was NFW, but I wanted better minds than mine to look at it as well. Now flame me for my river play please.

YOu didn't give us a profile of the actual player in the SB, but unless he's capable of being ultra-tricky (and judging by this hand he seems pretty l/p or l/m but straightforward) this is a fold on the river.

I don't think i'd have the guts to bet the river for value with just Kings, but then again my river AF is like .7 or something hideously low (yeah, need to work on that, I know...)

He was LAGgy and had done a "bet the river and then instamuck once called" earlier, but IMO a c/r here means business. As bad as his pf call was, IMO my river play is worse. Meh.
