Barry G and Chip Reese are the guys most hotly rumored to actually have an edge in this game. Maybe others do too but the edge might be 1/12th of a BB with variance that dwarfs the benefit of bothering to play in this game.

Err...I think Ivey is generally considered to be doing the best recently. Not that I know, but most Big Gamers have confirmed, from what I can tell.

Go to Barry Greenstein's webpage to get a good idea. He ranks himself, Phil Ivey, Chau Giang, Doyle Brunson, and Chip Reese as an 8 against strong players.

There are several players that are rated by Barry as a 6 or 5 against strong players. Those are the ones who likely have been losers in the big game. Also quite a few people are rated as a 7.

It appears that a 7 rating can either indicate a very good player or Greenstein possibly being overly generous with a wealthy loser in the big game. Read the rating of Berman vs the rating of Todd Brunson to see where I'm coming from on that.

Where did he say that? And is Doyle referring to himself, or Gus? It doesn't sound like Doyle to be disclosing that kind of information about what another player loses.

Me, once...Last time I was in Vegas, I had a pretty good run. so I sat in with $4,000, paid the blind, and was all in and got dealt J9o.

Chip Reese raised everyone out, turned up a 4 and a 9, and rivered a the 4. My dream was over, but I'll always know that my money is floating around in that game somewhere.

I thought I played it well, when the cards were dealt, I chuckled and said, "Aces, wow the odds of that must be like a zillion to one, or something." I did get Daniel to fold his Jacks with that, so that was cool anyway.

So now we know where the money comes from. People that sit down with one bet just to try the big game. If a hundred people does that in a month, that will turn into some EV.

Add a few texan oil billionairs and we have a game!

Thanks for the link. I didn't know Barry had these. I just clicked on Phill Hellmuth's profile, and the background music was "It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To." Hee.
