WSOP needs to be in ESPN HD. If TILT was, why not WSOP?

[/ QUOTE ]

would you really want to watch all these "beautiful" poker players in their full hi-def glory?

I have a simple idea if you have already seen it and don't want to watch it again; change the channel!

Clearly you watch too much TV, turn it off once in a while.

^public service announcement.

ESPN paid for these shows and is going to rerun the hell out of them because they are profitable, there is nothing you can do about it, you might as well whine about too much Star Trek and CSI on SPIKE while you at it.

maybe I watch too much TV, but maybe you dont watch enough to know what kills shows.
This was my point, I've been wrong before.
But not this time.

By the way star trek is 20 years old Pal.
Nice comparison )))

Nah, it's filler TV spots for them that people will actually on occasion watch.

No worries. 8)

Poker shows can kill poker shows, but POKER itself is going no where, and ultimately that is all that matters?!?!

For us serious players the coverage is mostly crap anyhow and rinse and repeat, it's not that exciting to watch, thus the need for beautiful women mixed in the shows?
[ESPN does a better job then most]

Once the N-ratings go down down down, then you will see major changes.

They have been playing Sportscenter at least 6 times a day for as long as I can remember. They are the most successful sports network in the world. Sounds like they are doing something right, but who am I?

showing the same sportscenter program in the morning because people tune it at different times and generally most ESPN viewers WANT to see that is one thing.

Showing the same WSOP-circuit program almost EVERY single night of the week (and on both ESPN and ESPN at the same time no less) is different.

It's actually MORE saturation than the Star Trek re-runs on Spike (or Seinfeld reruns on TBS or whatever).
None of these networks shoe the SAME episode every night, over and over, for an entire week.

I don't entirely mind it as I usually catch just a few minutes at a pop anyway. It's like having my own WSOP TIVO...whenever I want to watch the rest of the episode I just turn it to ESPN and it's probably on.

But I think they're programming strategy is flawed at best.
It is truly over-saturation and it completely boggles my mind why they would show it as much as they do.

Their ratings for this stuff must be much higher than I imagine.

It's also not an issue of 'they paid for it so they're going to show it'.
They pay for other programming as well and don't show them NEARLY as much.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if they showed a few more baseball games during the week....or even tennis or golf coverage.
I actually preferred the mid 80's bach when tbey would show Australian Rules Football and the CFL. At least they're rea sports.

Thank goodness the baseball pennant races are heating up, pre-season football will actually be starting soon (amazing) and then we'll have college football just around the corner too.
Not to mention the Little League World Series which is really good stuff too.

I'm just amazed at the amount of poker they are choosing to show though considering the number of viewers they are most certainly ticking off.
But if the sponsors were all sold on 'you pay X amount and we are going to show the episodes 28 times per week' then they are pretty much obligated to show it as much as they are.
