I will plan to live off $1/hr, which I'm capable of.

Yes, cardboard boxes are cheap. But they're tough to get a cable connection hooked up for the tv. On top of that, they can be kind of drafty. Especially in the wintertime.

$1/hr? Please.

This has got to be a joke thread.

Yeah, I wish it was too . Sorry, but I'm serious.

I know you're a respected poster. However, if my situation keeps you from giving a helpful response, please ignore it. Anyways, all I really need to know is how much can the $2/4 game in AC be beat for. I can figure the rest for myself.

[/ QUOTE ]

How are you going to live on $1/hr? You want a helpful response, I'm being realistic. When someone is serious about doing this for a living, they don't say they'll play a live 2-4 and live off of $1/hr unless A: They're planning on living in a broom closet and eat scraps or B: they have a big sum of money stashed that they can live off of for a long while.

Btw...$1000 is way to low to play 5-10. Playing 2-4 with only $500 is asking alot too. No offense, but I think you have a little more to learn before you think of doing this for a living.

I'm sorry, but I don't want to explain my life story.

However you're right, $1/hr is not realistic. After looking over my data, it'll probably take $3.60/hr (+ my $0.50/hr in comps).
The comps will provide 1 meal/day.
The $1/hr will cover additional meals.
The $2.60 will cover gas, tolls & parking.

I have no expenses other than traveling to AC. I'll be in this situation for the rest of this calendar year. By then I hope to be playing $5/10 at the very least for a living (I don't know if that's realisitic either).

I have about $700, which I know is low for 2/4 (I just dropped $200 in my last session). I want another $1000, so I have 300BB at 2/4 + another 50BB for 5/10, so I can take a shot.

If you "work" (meaning play) 40 hours a week, that's only $160 per month. Even if you play 100 hours per week, that's only $400 a month. At 100 hours a month it will take you 2.5 months to get a $1000 bankroll for 5/10, assuming no living expenses at all and no downswings that cripple your small bankroll.

I'm not belittling your rather ambitous plan, but I'm curious how you can possibly be capable of living this cheaply.

EDIT: you modified your plan in your response to Bernie. I still think $3 or $4 and hour is a meager living at best.

I suggest using the search engine and reading about this topic to answer your questions and get a good idea of what it takes to play for a living. I think Ed, David or Mason wrote about this in the 2+2 Magazine also.

See my other post for my financial details. I wouldn't be surprised if it took 2.5 months, but you're figuring that I pad my bankroll $1/hr. I'm hoping it'll be more.

I just saw your reply to Bernie and edited my post.

Lay off the doobs..

$1 / hr??? I would love to know how you plan on living off about $10/day.

Do you plan on EATING? After walking to McDonalds to get a double cheeseburger three times a day, your profits are now $5/day.

This thread is absurd and ridiculous.

Good luck, hopefully variance does not smack you in the face. I still think you'd be better off in the food or retail service industry. There you would make a lot more than $1/hr and you could play on your days off.

LOL X 1000! Now that my stomach hurts, I have to agree... $2-4, IMO, can only be profitable online, where the rake is much lower, and no dealers/cocktail waitresses to tip, etc... Still wondering if this thread is serious or not...

No rent, no car bills, nothing? Then yeah, you probably can live on $3.60 per hour. Instead of rolling up $1000, take $300 to the 5/10 game. Take a shot!

You don't have Car Insurance?!? Isn't that illegal?

BTW.. What casino are you playing at? Leave your windows cracked a few inches.. Since you're a nice guy I'll drop by the parking garage at night and feed you a couple more quarters to get you through the next day.

Don't choke on them though. I'll try not to disturb your sleep.
