you're missing the point, instead of going all-in, reraise for almost your whole stack, but leave like 6k. It just ensures that the small stack will still call off his last 3k.

Granted, this has been clouded by the results, but why not minraise?

If you make it 8800 to go, BB will likely drop with mediocre hands, so you get the isolation of button but still maintain the ability to fold if BB moves in and button folds. And if this crazy, corner-case situation does occur, you arent completely screwed for HU play either.
