Re: Nice to see.....
Man it seems like every pokerstars tourney has increased its' field exponentially in the last week or so, 3000+ runners in the sunday now around 450 on the monday $150... both have to be records.

Done...
Blinds 1K/2K (a100). 16K left. I've got 9To in the SB. Folded to me. Having just read the short-stack play section in Harrington's book, I think this is absolute no brainer of a push (my M is ~4).
Get called by A8. He flops 2 pair, but I have a flush draw. It doesn't come. |

Though really it was too much for them to hope to have the WSOP champion 3 years in a row. On a more important note, sucks when you steal and the blinds wake up with a hand cfere. Tough spot. |

Re: Nice to see.....
Even though it is happening, I do not see how it is logical that all the sudden PokerStars got a big boom. Most people aren't aware of the results of the WSOP until it is aired on ESPN.

Re: A hand from the STARS 150
[ QUOTE ]
Shortly after I made the last post. I'm in the SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Blinds 300/600 a50. Full table (9 players). Player who I had noted as weak-tight (T8800) open limps from CO-2. I complete (T13,500). BB checks. Pot is 2250. Flop is 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I bet 1500. BB folds. Limper calls. Turn is 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] giving me a gutshot to go with my top pair. I bet 2K. Limper raises 2800 to 4800 total (leaving him with less than 2000 back). What do you do? [/ QUOTE ] I folded. This sure looked like a set of 3s or 6s to me. He said later he had a "high pair." Not sure if I believed him. Seems odd to limp a high pair after 3 have already folded, but as I said he did seem a bit weak-tight. If I thought that all my outs were good (3 9s, 2 10s, 4 8s) it's possible I should have called, but really the problem is that if I don't improve, there's no way I can fold my pair on the river when he'll bet ~2K into a pot with ~14K, so really I have to think of his whole stack when considering the odds, I think. And like I said, I thought it was definitely possible that i needed to hit the straight to win. |
