Re: Do I have all the great books?
[ QUOTE ]
Getting started in hold 'em? Why should I buy a beginners book? What do you like about "How good is your limit hold 'em"? [/ QUOTE ] You said you were just starting to play NL cash games. So, you are a beginner. GSIH has some very good material for beginners in NL cash games. Even though I am not a beginner, I have made money using some of the strategy suggested by Ed. As for the limit material in GSIH, it's basic but covers the fundamentals. How Good is Your Limit Holdem is like How Good is Your Pot Limit Holdem - a series of hands interlaced with questions. While there isn't anything groundbreaking, I look at the text as a workbook. It's good exercise, if you will. |

King Yao if you read this: are you working on a shorthanded book and when will it be finished if you do? [/ QUOTE ] I am. However my motivation and drive in doing so has stalled lately. I don't know if that will change in the near future. Right now, I wouldn't hold my breath that I will have one out within the next two years. |

Re: Do I have all the great books?
I have read and studied PL&NL Poker, Super System 2 NL chapter and HOH1.
What is new in GSIH compared to these? I am not going to start with the small stack GSIH strategy. I'm not entirely new to NL. I have played many NL tournaments (I know they are a bit different). I'm planning on playing at micro-limits at first to get used to NL. |

Re: Do I have all the great books?
Thanks for your reply.
If you write one soon you will probably sell truckloads. And you will become the legend that wrote the First shorthanded book. That should motivate you. I will definitely buy a nice shorthanded book. |

Re: Do I have all the great books?
You have quite a few books on there that are barely good, nevermind "great."
If you were going to assign a value to each of the books you listed, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, your current library has books from a 4 range through a 10 range. Since that's the range you're going for, you probably should buy every 2+2 book as they all are at least a 6. But you have the best 2+2 fare covered, at least. It's noted above, but pick up King Yao's book. It's definitely above average and certainly quite a bit better then some of those non-2+2 books you listed... If you want to add in some entertainment to your reading: Positively Fifth Street, The Professor..., and Ace on the River I'd all recommend. Barron Vangor Toth BarronVangorToth.com |

Re: Do I have all the great books?
If you had read my post correctly you would have seen that I listed ALL my books.
I certainly didn't say that all of them are great. Wouldn't it be great if people actually read the post before responding? |
