I'd say "not integrating your game" as per ciaffone is probably the biggest leak in almost every poster's game in SSNL (mine included).

Fim,

Im not familiar with the quote, can you elaborate?

ciaffone discusses "integrating your game" in one of his poker books. really great essay about how and why different play styles can be profitable in the same game. the jist is that if you play a tight, less agressive style in general, you need to exploit this to steal more than your fair share of pots on later streets. conversely, if you play a loose, more agressive style you need to be willing to make razor thin value bets that only work due to your opponent's expanded calling range.

most twoplustwoers play tight and passive preflop, which is fine, but then they slow down on later streets, even when not shown aggression, which is a leak. likewise, i often wuss out on betting TPMK on the river, even when i know i'm ahead of the hand range which my opponent needs to call me.

biggest leak for many people here seems to be over-reliance on 2+2.

fim,

Would you happen to know which one of Ciaffone's books that essay is from? Is it "Improve Your Poker"? It sounds like an interesting essay that I'd like to read.

Thanks.

My experience has been that a lot of players tend to play the NL cash games the same way they would a S&G.
They are locked into the mentality that they need to "make moves" and push their entire stacks with marginal hands.

I tend to play a lot more hands preflop in NL in hopes of trapping one of these players. It's amazing how easy it is to milk someone for chips when you reraise them. Other player's Egos can be +EV for the level-headed player
