Re: so exactly how much cash was on the table?
I played in an earlier final table this year, and the cash on the table was $1 bills with two $100 bills on the outside of each bundle.
Of course, it's possible that this time it's all $100s... -Aces |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Looks like about 1st & 2nd place money put together to my eyes (all $100 bills, not padded $1 bills as suggested earlier). [/ QUOTE ] thats what we all thought last year until someone zoomed in on a pic and it showed $1 bills under the top $100 bills. [/ QUOTE ] You watched last years telecast right? They actually had a couple quick scenes from the cage where they where counting, bundling and boxing the cash ... real cash. Why is it so hard for people to believe this is cash? [/ QUOTE ] Why is it so hard for people to realize that there is no reason to put $7.5 million on a table in a run down, down town casino that a group of gunmen could take over and the risk the lives of everyone in the room. Last year it was NOT really $5 million on the table, and there is no reason to believe it was this year (although I dont know for sure about this year). |

$7.5million [/ QUOTE ] So, you think Binion's - unrelated to Harrah's now - put $7.5 Million on the table for show? Or do you think they shipped 7.5 Mil over from Rio so they could dump it on the table? There's no where near 7.5 Mil on that table. Regards, T |

Re: so exactly how much cash was on the table?
I was at last years final table and about 3 feet literally from the money I asure you it was real and there were no $1 bills. This is a tradition, it is real, the $1 bill stories come from WPT where yes it does happen. End of story.

Re: so exactly how much cash was on the table?
People here crack me up, it's like 1/2 of you have never been to Vegas, let alone gambled...
Yes...Vegas does things all the time "for show", that is part of what keeps the people coming back over the years... Gunmen?? That's just funny. Do you really think they care if they get robbed for 7.5 million? Ever heard of insurance? Just because the WPT does it when they are playing the East Palo-Alto Invitational, doesn't mean that's the way it happens in Vegas. It's real kids...Period. |

Re: so exactly how much cash was on the table?
This thread is great. A huge number of people are 100% convinced they would never do that with real money. An equally huge number of people are 100% convinced it has to be real money. A small minority of people who actually have evidence are being completely ignored.
This thread is not just about a pile of money on a table. It is a microcosm of the entire world of poker. |

One guy claims to have a pic from the final table last year, in which he states it was fake...but he cant find it. Another says he was 3 feet from the table last year and it was real. They both look like ASCII characters to me. |

Re: so exactly how much cash was on the table?
its amazing the ignorance and laziness of some people. they will just believe whatever they want to believe.
for the lazy piece of [censored] SF giants fan who we must show proof to otherwise its not true: Temp Hutter post from his Foxwoods 2nd place [ QUOTE ] The cash displayed at the final table of the WPT event at Foxwoods last year was 98 one dollar bills with 2 one hundred dollar bills on either side. When some of the money spilled off of the table and I "accidentally" put it in my pocket, I was surprised that no one was watching or even cared. Then I realized that the stack I grabbed was only worth $298 and not $10,000. [/ QUOTE ] its amazing that some people can convince themselves of something when they have no information to base anything on. if you dont believe then you can go search the forums for the pics of last years cash and clearly see the ones sticking out. we should not have to prove to you, it should be the other way around. |
