Re: Moneymaker and Varkonyi are better players than Dannenmann
[ QUOTE ]
I think my dog plays better poker than Varkonyi, and he chases gutshots with only 7.5:1 odds. [/ QUOTE ] Under the correct circumstances, implied odds can make that a worthwhile chase. You must have meant to say that your dog probably plays better poker than you. -ptmusic |

[ QUOTE ]
I played with Danneman for several hours on Day 2. I took a big chunk out of his stack when I hit a straight against his top pair. [/ QUOTE ] FORESHADOWING. |

I would put Raymer in that group, also. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Moneymaker and Varkonyi are better players than Dannenmann
[ QUOTE ]
Dannenmann was on my left for all of Day 1. I was quite interested to see that he finished so high. He was a tight/solid type who clearly had card sense, but didn't seem capable of anything spectacular. He folded from the BB every single time I raised from the SB or the button raised. Didn't seem comfortable picking fights. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like a good Day 1 strategy to me. If more of the pros had done that on the first day, they might have gone a lot farther. |
