Oh, and this is probably the fishy play that pisses me off the most: holding onto pocket pairs after the flop hoping for a set.

Why would that piss you off? Once they hold it onto th e turn, they're definitely holding onto it till the river. Once they hold onto it till the river, they've gotta call that one more river bet "just in case their hand is good", hell they're probably even getting the correct odds to call your river value bet. Put all that together and people who play that way spells a lot of expected value for you.

Everyone who posted that said you played the hand horribly is wrong.

Preflop you are roped in but you can't fold at any point. The flop peel is easily +EV, and the turn you called getting 23.5:1 so you have to earn back almost no money at all on the river if you hit. Based on the money earned on the river, your turn call was easily +EV too.

Well played big pot poker. Folding any earlier is a crime.
