Actually, it depends on your definition of "new". I've been playing hold 'em for about 3 years now, but only started winning in the past 14 months, and it got me "in the black". |

He can catch a 6, 9, or 8. This isn't cheating. It's just calling a turn when pot odds don't allow it but over-estimating implied river odds does. Seems like that's what he did here, "If I hit the 8, maybe I can get all his money"?
Cheating is more like when 3 people are in a hand and one member gets raised out by the other two on the river and 1 of the remaining two players folds to a tiny re-raise on the end so nobody sees his craptastic hand that he was pot-building with his buddy. |

On the flop you are giving everyone the proper odds to chase.
The first caller (BB) has the right odds to chase the flush, a caller behind him (UTG) would have the right odds to chase a str8, and someone behind him (CO) would probably have the odds to chase a gutshot. |
