After having a bad run and tilting at shorthanded limit hold em, I temporarily switched to SNGs to make money and to rebuild confidence.

1. SNGs require less discipline
2. SNGs tilt me less
3. SNGs on party are pretty damn easy. PUSH

There really needs to be a 2+2 magazine article about increasing your luckbox factor.

A good thing to try is to edit your partypoker.ini file and adjust the settings to match your playing style.

I've just gone through a real bad run and have changed my settings to hopefully solve the problem once and for all.

Here is how I have changed my settings, YMMV:

reverse_domination=off
runner_runner_flush=no
crack_AA=never
set_over_set=high
two_outers=none
cheap_straight=disabled
KK_god_mode=yes

If these don't work, you might want to try:

beer=cold
scotch=rocks
computer=off

From one bad beat sufferer to another -- good luck.

If anyone has some better settings, please share.

I have recently come off a bad run.

What I did was take a few days off and worked a bit on my game.

When I started playing again I only played a few hours for the next few days. Played only in very good games.

Booked a few small wins.

Now the weekend is here and everything is back to normal.

Personally, I like to whine about it as much as possible.

What do the pros do when they have a dry run like that?

[/ QUOTE ]

Apparently they go shopping.

This post is clearly a lie as it is impossible for A7o to hit a set.
