Re: Women in the WSOP ME
Nani Dollison and Jeri Thomas are definitely women.
Nani won the opening event several years ago, and Jeri is married to Harry Thomas. |

Re: Women in the WSOP ME
[ QUOTE ]
Those who are more problematic / uncertain, but who seem to show potential: Jordan Marinov Christy Psillas Jean Harlan Sal Calandra Carrol Hansen Kelly Kim Esther Rossi Kerry Petre Cameron Hamilton Gene Malatesta Jeri Thomas Renee Wexler Kelly Tran Kit Phaphon Kelly Zoudo Carmen Menechella Nani Dollison [/ QUOTE ] OK, I don't "KNOW" but I think there are a few in this list that are less "problematic" than others: I would say that its most likely that ... Christy Psillas : F Jean Harlan : F (Gene is masculine, unless its a Frech or French/Canadian dude) Esther Rossi : F Jeri Thomas : F (I'm less confident in this guess) Renee Wexler : F (also less confident) Sal Calandra : M Gene Malatesta : M (see above) The rest are interesting though. I'd think that at least 2 of the 3 Kellys are F and Kit is more likely F than M. Carrol is likely a M (and possibly a Brit?). One would expect Carmen to be F, but it can go either way... interesting list! ThisHo |

Re: Women in the WSOP ME
I read last night on cardplayer.com that the % of women in the field is the same now as it was on Day 1 Hand 1...I think it was somewhere in the 2% range?

Re: Women in the WSOP ME
Hey don't forget Anna Benson, she makes Mike Matasow(sp) seem high class, LOL:
From the Web, --ANNA Benson, the outrageous wife of Mets pitcher Kris Benson, raised a whole lotta hell in Las Vegas last weekend. The buxom former stripper was ejected from the World Series of Poker at the Rio on Saturday for excessive cursing. After serving a 10-minute penalty for dropping the "f-bomb," a violation of tournament rules, Benson returned and asked her dealer, "Does that mean I can't say any other word? I can say c - - t, p - - - y and c - - k, but I can't say f - - k?" Benson - whose $10,000 entrance fee was sponsored by pokerblue.com - was immediately booted from the game. She also set tongues wagging when she was barred from the Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio after they refused to let her eat with her French bulldog puppy, Petunia. "She threw a huge fit," tattles our snitch. "She even said, 'Don't you know who I am? The dog will stay in its carrier.' They said, 'Absolutely not,' and she stormed off." Anna - named "Baseball's Sexiest Wife" by FHM magazine - once told Howard Stern that if she caught her husband sleeping around, she would bed the entire Mets team right down to the groundskeepers |

Re: Women in the WSOP ME
From cardplayer:
Date / Time: 2005-07-11 21:12:00 Title: Six Women Remaining Log: They just announced that there are six women left in the field. For some reason, this was met with applause. I guess the spectators were showing their support for those female players who are still playing. With about 280 players left in the field, the women currently represent a little over 2% of the field. That's in line with the head count we took on one of the Day One fields. |
