word..."bucky done gun" is ridiculously good.

what is this about a video? link?

This song is basically a rework of a brazilian Baile Funk track. Baile Funk is kinda like a combination of old electro & miami bass with portuguese lyrics over it. Heres a track that uses the same sample (lots of baile funk tracks use this):

Injecao - Deise Tigrona

DJ Diplo (from Hollertronix fame) is behind alot of her beats. He made a mix before her album dropped called 'Piracy Funds Terrorism', that remixs a bunch of her stuff. At her live shows she mostly uses HIS remixes, not her originals!

And yeah....its about a fricken far from Gwen Stefani as possible. Except that Diplo did do a remix of 'Hollerback girl'.

That Diplo remix CD is on point, as is most of Diplo's work.

Doesn't really do it for me after two listens.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is really good though. And so is the new Knitters CD. The Knitters are back!

Funny thing. I just listened to Bucky Done Gun on Yahoo Launch, and guess what the song right after it was? Yup, Hollaback Girl. So, at least the monkeys categorizing the music on Yahoo Launch consider M.I.A. and Stefani pretty much the same. What does "Bucky Done Gun" mean anyway? I'm much too white and old to figure these things out.

I like dance music but I can't get behind "riddim". I will agree that M.I.A.'s stuff is well-produced.
