And, she thought it would be better NOT to ask the question in the morning dealer meeting! This is a ^$@&## world championship!

It may be a world championship for you guys, but I bet she is still only making $5 an hour.

Dealers make minimum wage plus tips.

In the case of the WSOP, I believe 3% of each prize pool is automatically withheld for this purpose. So that comes out to about $1.68 million for the main event.

I don't know what the breakdown is (maybe floor people, etc. get more), but if the $1.68M was divided evenly among 500 dealers, each one would get over $3300, which would come out to about $40-50 per hour for 70 hours worked.

It's certainly fair to expect at least a minimum level of competence and effort for that kind of pay. Even though there's apparently a critical shortage of well-trained dealers due to the poker boom, you'd think Harrah's wouldn't skimp in this department, especially for the main event!

Shhhhhh.. Don't dispel the "Those poor, poor Dealers" daily pity party.

You need to remember to follow the "They are getting shafted by the Man!" template.

sekrah,

Every post I have read from you is worthless including this one. Over four hundred posts since joining two weeks ago and not a single shred of intellect coming from you. Do us all a favor and put a little more forethought into your statments before you hit the reply button.

Out of curiosity, what do you do for a living other than "professional 2+2 forum poster"?

Nope.. I just despise most dealers.. They are all the same.

There are very few good ones who actually enjoy what they do and don't bitch and moan all day about what a horrible life they have.

Compared to what some people have to do for a living? Nope.

Again, if you don't like it, get an education, find another job that you like. Nope, they choose to bitch about it and how they are getting screwed.

Almost all people who are employed do the same tasks repeatedly over and over again.
