The 5/10 at the borg sucks, the 2/5 though is incredible. Play that.

[/ QUOTE ]
Please discuss why you say this? Why does the 5-10 suck?

Also like i said i play 2-5 in NYC quite a lot so it wouldnt be a huge jump . And i wont like i prob will play the 2 5 a few times in AC before moving up but what does the 5-10 play like? Please discuss thanks.

cut out table games unless we've got dragons at the table worth playing with.

if you want to play nl 5/10 play it online first. its clearly tricker online so that would be a good place to start and the casino would be a great place to clean house

[/ QUOTE ]
Lets leave my stu unger like table games problems out of this. I think id loose a huge adv playing 5-10 online you know this. How about that dragon behind you at the bacarrat table MY GOD

the girl was money, needless to say.

i think playing higher stakes onine will better prepare you for your live play. i know you lose the edge of your reads but online there are plenty of bad players, apparently myself included.

That's never been my experience, at least on the weekends. Almost every time I've sat down in the 5/10 at Borgata, there's been at least two major donators at the table with large wallets and no playing skills. For example, on Saturday, we has a guy who went through at least $2,500 in four hours making awful plays. On a hand where it was clear to the rest of the table that I was on a diamond flush draw, he goes all in ($575) acting first when the third diamond hits on the turn. We also had our share of hands with 6-7 people seeing the flop, people calling raises OOP with dominated hands, etc.

Yes, you will run into some good tricky LAGs at that game. However, if you pay attention to the players and pick your spots carefully, the game can be very profitable, even for someone like me (who is hardly anyone's idea of an expert NL player).

The 2/5 can also be a very profitable game. If you have the bankroll (a very important if), I would not shy away from the 5/10.

can anyone confirm if it is as simple as flipping a coin?

also, its closer to 2.5% if you don't pay the 5% rake on losing hands

I can confirm that. You simply have to guess player or banker and have no control over the outcome whatsoever. The game is fun, but deadly. Play with entertainment money only.

I'm pretty sure Sklansky wrote that you cannot beat the game. I also seem to recall him calling it a "stupid" game or words to that effect.
