doesn't make it user friendly.

Sure it does.

It makes it user friendly for people who can spell, read, and count.

But I digress...

I'm not sure that I've ever been involved in an internet group of any sort where there wasn't a near constant supply of low level grumbling about the good old days before all the newbies showed up.

Do remember that some folks change account names along the way as well. Someone who appears to be new may not be so new.

Also, in regards to asking the same sorts of questions when they start, remember that the search function here isn't exactly user-friendly.

I'm not talking about people with post counts, I'm talking about clueless people making retarded posts. I haven't been here long enough to talk about the "old days" but I'm just saying this is different from the norm, wanted to makesure I wasn't the only one seeing it.

It does appear over the last month or two that there are many more repeat posts that are easily covered by a search or reading the FAQs. It's not just the Zoo either. I don't know what to attribute this to, but I think the SI article is one factor. Not to mention someone over at the Empire Poker School forums providing a link to here.

Yes it is, they just don't bother with it 88.9% of the time.

In response to the OP, I'm in with the group who thinks a lot of it is a result of the Sports Illustrated article.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, it's really not, and they recently made it worse by limiting you to one forum only per search

Hold down CTRL to select multiple forums to search.

See I've been around for a bit, thought I could work it decently, and still didn't know that. Knowing to use +'s and -Re: isn't exactly common knowledge.

I had trouble with it for awhile until someone mentioned the + and -. It makes such a difference. I believe that forum searching is included in Lorinda's FAQ, but I'm not sure how many of the newer posters will read that.

It's also in SheridanCat's Beginner's FAQ, which is often overlooked.

Link

It mentions you can select multiple forums, but not how.
However, I think using the 'shift' and 'ctrl' keys to select multiple items should be familiar to most anyone who has spent much time on a computer.
