Re: 5-5 deep stacks...interesting turn and river

You might get him to lay down a weak ace, [/ QUOTE ] um... [ QUOTE ] Then you can take all of his money. [/ QUOTE ] If you're playing such that you're making him lay down hands that you beat, I highly doubt this. |

Re: 5-5 deep stacks...interesting turn and river
[ QUOTE ]
You're gonna move all in here, in case he's "bluffing" with 66, 88, 99, TT, JJ, QQ, or KK. You might get him to lay down a weak ace, since the kicker on the board is only 4. Don't show if he folds though, in case it was a complete bluff where he couldn't beat the board; as it is, you literally cannot beat any hand that beats the board. Plus, if you force him to fold, he might start steaming and try bluffing you more, just to prove he can do it. Then you can take all of his money. [/ QUOTE ] yo OP had an ace. read the post before you decide to post. or just decide not to post, that would be fine too. |

Re: 5-5 deep stacks...interesting turn and river
[ QUOTE ]
10-handed game with deep stacks. Villian is UTG and has 22K+. I have 4k. Villian is very solid but capable of bluffing. I’ve made many comments making fun of how tight he is and I believe I have him primed to bluff at me. I’ve never seen him make a big bluff before but I’ve suspected many. Villain opens for $10 (which basically means nothing) two callers, I raise to $60 from the button with AsQs, villain reraises to $160, the limpers fold and I call. Flop: Ad – 7s – 4s Villain bets $300 and I call Turn 7h (Ad – 7s – 4s) Check, check River 4c Villain bets $800 and hero ____________________ Comments? [/ QUOTE ] At first glance i thought raising flop would be a good option, but that lets of hands such as KK/QQ very easily. I would call river. I can see KK and QQ here. |

Re: 5-5 deep stacks...interesting turn and river
I think it's better to bet the turn and check the river. since you didn't, I wouldn't know what to do but I think it's pretty close between calling and folding. I would probably lean towards folding.

I'd much rather take the card and keep the pot smallish.

Anybody bet this turn? [/ QUOTE ] Definately check behind on the turn with all your outs. No point in betting, as you let off KK and QQ easy, as well as risk being C/R'ed huge by a hand you are behind. I think betting this turn would be awful. Oh, and I would instacall the river. You have really shown no strenght except for you $60 preflop raise. |

RESULTS
I called and villian immediately said "ace is good" (so i don't know what he had). I'm pretty sure it was K's - 8's and he was trying to move me off an ace. I took some flack at the table for making that call but I'm pretty happy with it in hindsight.

Re: RESULTS
I think it would be standard to call river here, i dont understand why you would get flack here.

I think it would be standard to call river here, i dont understand why you would get flack here. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. The only hands that i'm loosing to in this spot are 44, 77, AA, and AK. KK and QQ seemed fairly likely so i called. It is tough calling 800 (130 BB's) into a double paired board with top pair 2nd best kicker. |
