Those ungrateful, well that is how I read it.

Good luck, and yes it was a shorthanded event.

Congrats, Bob!

Very nice update!

I hope to be in the money in the first event I play in when I get out there. (which will just happen to be the main event)

Good Luck out there!

Congrats and good luck in your next events. Nice report. How soft were the $125 satellites? I'm thinking about trying one to buyin into a 1k event.

Bob,

Thanks for the report. Can't wait to get out there.

I really hope that win was part of the backing.

If so my estimate is:

$100 my investment/ ~$14,000 your investment= .7143% stake

$200 won so far

$1.42 earned so far! Keep it up.

sorry.....the sat's i'm playing are not part of the backing.
If I use the sat chips to enter into a $1k event or something then that will likely be part of the deal (I'll make an announcement prior to the event regarding whether 'it counts' or not)

I played in 4 of these sat's in total and finished up $510 for them.

EF's = 125 + 175 + 225 + 225 = 750

Chopped heads-up (we were even in chips) in a 225 so that good for $1060 (2 entry-chips of $500 each....but they can be sold to just about anyone for cash). Plus the 200 I had won in the first one.

Total WSOP winnings to date = $1260
Amount invested = $750

I'm also up $70 in BJ (my relaxation and winding-down time before bed).

As for the softness - they run the single-table sat's from $125 to $525 ALL the freaking time. Just get in line and wait for the next one and if the buy-in is to your liking then jump on it.
They are going to have a bunch of these the day before the main-event I believe....so if you are getting there early then try to sign-up for a couple just to get some tourney-pracitice.

Later on Thursday night they were reasonably soft.
The structure is so fast that it's kind of like a turbo-SNG at times. But there were a couple of players at each table who were clearly kinda drunk.
I saw 1 or 2 players raise from EP to MP with A6o or 77 when we were still 10-handed and they let themselves get all-in.
And a couple really bad bluffs in there.

There are some solid players too....but there's enough softness going around that I'm liking them as +EV.

Also - since I might be able to work out a favorable deal at the end (like I did in the first one) but don't have to take a crappy deal when I'm ahead (like the other guy did in the first one) I think there's added EV in there.

I think they are about to get softer too as I expect a ton of newcomers to arrive on the scene for the 4th of July weekend.
The $3k event today is expected to get 2k players or so.

Also - I've heard from a couple sources that the 20/40 game over on the ring-game side of the playing room has been positively wild.
Same for the 2/5 NL game.

I'm assuming the 10/20 will be equally soft (more in my comfort-zone).

Now that I'm a little more tourney-comfortable I might just hang out over in the ring-games side and check it out for myself.

In case you didn't realize, the comment was made in jest. The overall winnings/ losses would only be affected very very little, not worried about it.

Hence the joke about the $2 in winnings

We want to see the contract! This dispute over what is and is not included in the backing agreement could be a great big scandal!

Full disclosure now!
