[ QUOTE ]
yeah, i don't mind keeping the pot small preflop out of position with zero preflop FE and a chance to disguise my hand. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly right, specially with a player as aggressive as Alan. |

Re: Hands from the WSOP (Hand #2)
[ QUOTE ]
building a pot out of position in limit makes later decisions tougher, not easier. [/ QUOTE ] Very well said, this is even more true in tournaments, where you don't have an endless amount of chips behind. Against a good aggressive player, I think this is the best way to play it, if he's behind, he's bluffing some chips to you, if he's ahead, you're losing the minimum. Of course against a tight player, maybe it's better to 3-bet before the flop, since with him you have a good FE in the flop, when you bet. |

how was playing with him? I have read that he is a complete lunatic [/ QUOTE ] I really enjoyed playing with him. He's an excellent player, especially after the flop. Maybe lunatic is about right, but I prefer creative. One hand, player in MP raises, Alan 3-bet in LP, I have KQ in the LB and I fold. Flop came T62, MP checks, Alan bets, MP calls. Turn A, MP checks, Alan checks. River a 3, MP bets and Alan calls, MP has 77, and Alan T4d and wins the pot. |
