I think its a good laydown.

I also think its interesting that people are advocating a push because theres a lot of cards that could beat you. UTG is raising 4x the BB and MP re-raises with people left to act behind him, he is representing a monster. Its still early so why risk it?

Q-
Is this an auto push at the next level?

How about the previous level?

[/ QUOTE ]

UTG betting 2xBB, MP raise to 4xBB... not even standard, min bet min raise...

Didn't really read this post either, 800 chip SNG, push*.

*I folded QQ once in a 50, in 500 SNGs' worth. I was right. If you lay it down once in 500 tournaments and you're right I'll forgive you. Maybe even twice. Three is too many.

Maybe im missin something, im still a student of the game so please help me out. The BB is 50, UTG raised to 225 which is a 4xBB bet, MP raised to 400 which is a 8xBB bet. The raise and re-raise look pretty standard. Am I looking at this wrong?

I've come to the conclusion that a reraise preflop is almost always KK, AA, or AK. The tecf1fan reraise is especially telling. He can have no expectation of a fold, and he is comitting almost 40% of his chips. I think he wants a call, and I think he has AA. Good fold.

The blinds are low and theres two other players with shorter stacks. Why not wait for a better spot to double up and let the shorter stacks make some mistakes? Wouldn't he have a better chance of making the money?

[/ QUOTE ]

I would push here. The reason I don't want to wait for a better spot to double up or make the money is that I'm going for first place, and not just ITM. This is a good spot to double/triple up (usually the initial raiser will fold after my push) or move on to the next SNG.

It more likely that he has AK (probability wise) but if I had AK I would push or fold, not min raise... you might be right about AA. Folding QQ is a safe play, but I am often surprised by the hands people play. You will definitely run into AA and KK on occasion, but I have to think that many people are doing this with JJ- and AK- for which you are a big favorite and will win more than 50% of thime. Therefore, if they both call you are getting great odds.
