"i just punched through my computer screen after losing a9 to 97 (two pair) two hands in a row at 10/20 and a large, large downswing. i need a big hug."
I no longer have to sit in a casino and have to listen to the whining, tempermental, obnoxious conduct of 10-20 players who act this way. A big hug? You deserve a big kick in the ass. Your large downswing is certainly not surprising. TSP |

I played at Turning Stone a few weekends ago. at the 20/40 table a guy stayed in a capped pot with 52s and turned trip 2s and dragged a $1k+ pot. the guy who lost said he had AA, and was obviously a regular. yet the guy wouldn't leave the 52s guy alone for at least a half hour. I HATE PEOPLE SO MUCH
I wish I was more of a dick and could've said something stupid like "he had pot odds!!" |

[ QUOTE ]
Guys, throwing things, breaking keyboards, screaming, and all the other crap you do to blow off steam is holding you back as a player. We need to get better at just letting it go. Krishan [/ QUOTE ] I couldn't agree more. There's no way you can wail on your surroundings like the Samsonite gorilla and then calmly sit back down and play well. Going on kicky-punchy tantrum tilt like this messes up your game for a while (I know from experience.) Krishan's right, the problem is the attitude that causes these feelings when losing. Focusing on short-term fluctuations is a recipe for heartache and bad play, keeping a downswing alive. |

I have been through a 450 BB, $11,000 downswing, and bitching about it only made things worse.

anyone can win at poker but not everyone can handle losing. it's the price you pay for making the easiest money you'll ever make
while I sympathize with those who run bad, I don't condone bitching about it a lot, as it doesn't make things better. we all lose and it sucks. some lose more than others. some lose less. you'll never see me criticize someone for complaining about a real downswing but I just think it's a waste of energy but maybe it helps some people... |

I'm usually end up being the guy that says "he had pot odds." or saying something else ridiculous to make the resident fish smile and to get the moron that's berating him/her to stfu or leave. |
