I find PT/Game Time a big hassle, and only use because I know I have to keep up with others who are. If all sites banned all software I'd be perfectly happy.

How you can play more than 4 tables without it? If you say "I am not playing 4 tables" then let me guess that you make living off something else. People who live off poker need to squeeze as much as they can so HUDs are very valuable.

The other option is to allow everyone access to the information. I wonder how much most people who play poker for entertainment would really care?

If all poker sites had an option to show stats on all the players all the time, or selected players, and it was built into the program, perhaps that will be the final answer.

No , what speaks for itself is your willingness to judge people by the number of posts at a poker forum.

Maybe charge a fee. Like if Party blocked all of these applications, but said "If you pay us $15 a month you can see stats on all of your opponets" it would be good. For one, the people who could use this information to their advantage will have it already, and the people who can't either arn't going to pay, or if they do, wouldn't know how the information should effect their play.

I got the exact same e-mail this morning but from PP. I also e-mailed back and asked them to tell me what I was using and I would stop. I don't use any software. I don't do this to make a living it just for fun for me.

Or even better, $100 a month! That way the rocks and mice that are barely making it will die off, leaving the fish to us serious players =)

Also doesn't it seem like this is the step in the wrong direction for Party, since it would encourage long-time players to look for another place to play?

Ew, $100 would be a [censored] outrage, I believe fish would be gin to think people paying that price are gaining some HUGE advantage over them, and would not want to deal with it and leave, I know if I was a losing player and I now saw that the people beating me were paying the site a $100 a month subscription fee, I'd haul ass out of there.

It is a step in the wrong direction for more reasons than that. One, it would encourage us to leave for other sites. Two, those who stay (and if this sparks a poker site revolution of banning these programs) are not going to be able to play 4+ tables paying thousands of dollars in rake every month, they would begin to play one or two tables at a time, maybe a step or two higher than what they usually 8 table, but overall the site is generating far less money.
