That would be one of the cards, because you have just too many outs on average to fold to the raise.

You have a lot more equity against the BB's range of hands on a brickish turn then on the flop. That's why I prefer raising the turn. Also, by 3betting you overrepresent your hand and let the BB pull something like he did. You are most likely ahead, but 3betting doesn't really defend against the semi-bluff as much as raising the turn IMO.

I didn't mention this in my post, but if you pick up a gutshot on the turn you should try to get to the river as cheap as possible. That is, you should not raise for a free showdown because you can't fold to a 3-bet. And the way you played it (3-betting the flop), you shouldn't have bet the turn because of the fear for a raise. This is basiclly the "check with outs, bet with no outs"-concept. Makes sense?

Folding basically any river for one bet would be atrocious, not to mention murder for your image.
