Re: Limit Holdem tougher competition than NL tournements?
variance is lower in nl than it is in limit so as a result it should make sense that nl tournaments are based moreso on skill.
however, id imagine that limit tournaments contain fishier players because tournament regulars are generally specialized in no limit play. |

Re: Limit Holdem tougher competition than NL tournements?
Live, big buyin limit tourneys are made up of a higher percentage of tough tourney players. But, because the tourney players in general are NL players, I believe for a limit expert the tourneys are actually much easier than NL. I think the typical bad NL tourney player is better at NL than many of the tough NL tourney players are at limit.

Re: Limit Holdem tougher competition than NL tournements?
I got two words for you:
Elix Powers I think the variance in limit is much higher than in no limit. You may be right that the competition is better in limit tournaments, but the variance can still kill you. I think, in a limit tourney a fish can ride the variance alot more than in a nl tournament. |
