best feeling in the world when the push gets called :-)

Even better when you bet $650 here and he reraises all-in...You pause for a moment as if to consider the call..Then pray he doesn't have the same hand and take it all down...Glorious.

For those who are curious, I ended up raising to $800 (but I REALLY wanted to push..) and Villian called. He had K3s for two pair on the flop. In retrospect, I think he would've called a push

Oh well, next time.

Im having a hard time making the title of the post and this statement make sense:

"I felt certain that if I hit my draw, I would be able to extract massive chips from him, hence I called getting 2:1 odds."

But other than that I think you really need to push this river.
First of all "we" need to get the right prize on the call, so it justifies "our" call on the turn. But betting in the range of 750, to me, makes it seem to much of a value bet. Combine that with the description of villain "not laying down to reraises" - I like a push, as it could be seen as bullying.

Yeah you're a jackass, there's no reason to do that, I hate slowrollers. Greatest and most satisfying hand I've ever had in poker was when someone slow-rolled calling my 4-bet on the river (15/30 limit) when he rivered the "nut" full house, let the clock run down to like five seconds, only to run face first into my straight flush. Next time you slowroll, I hope your computer glitches up and you time out on the call .

I really like a push here.

i think i understand why you're saying this, but could you clarify why you like push better than value bet in this instance?

Because of my opponent's tendency, pushing may actually get called. That is why I originally posted this hand...I was trying to figure out whether or not to value raise or push against this LAG opponent.

Given the description of the player and situation that we had, if he has a hand that can call a reasonable size bet, there's a pretty good chance that hand can call a push as well.

Is this also one of those times where if a push gets called a certain % of the time it's just as profitable (if not more) as the value bet?
