[ QUOTE ] i think folding to the flop c/r is the only other way to play it. I think it's close. without a read I'm tempted to take your line. Against a TAG I think this is an easy fold. [/ QUOTE ] I would expect a good thinking TAG to do this with any hand except an A. [/ QUOTE ] so what's your plan? |

Without a read, I probably call down, and hate myself when I lose.

I think calling the flop intending to fold on the turn is throwing money away. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. A preflod raise UTG and a check raise on the flop looks like he was playing something like A,K or A,Q. I say drop it on the flop. |

[ QUOTE ] Without a read I play it the same and if he had lead out the flop I would just call/call/call. [/ QUOTE ] call me weak tight, but i'm dumping on the turn. Sarge[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] I'm happy to see that someone here has read my book. Fit or folding, Lee Jones. |

Dropping it to the checkraise on the flop is giving up too much imo. His raise is most likely trying to find out if you do hold an A, and if you give it up so easily you are letting him get away with bluffing you out a lot. TAGs will frequently make this play with a wide range of hands that you beat (QQ JJ TT, etc).

While TAGs will make a play with QQ-TT, cant we also assume that many TAGs will also cap with those kind of hands before the flop thereby making the chance of holding an ace higher?

A lot of TAGs won't cap even JJ/AKo OOP. QQ seems iffier, the 2+2 SS consensus is to cap that almost all the time, but a lot of players I see still don't.

Note to jason_t, this "KK or QQ when Ace flops with no read" type hand should be added to the FAQ like WA/WB because it comes up every week. [/ QUOTE ] OT, but where can I find this FAQ? TIA, - The Wolf |

Would it be very strange to 3bet the flop and fold to a bet on the turn or check behind?
