Does Dell no longer sell laptops with a Pentium 4? All the processors on this link are the M and I can't find any on the site. I know my dad bought one with a P4 a few months ago and my buddy is interested in buying one during this deal.

Here is an article on the Pentium M series
http://www.tomshardware.com/mobile/20030212/ Intel changed the technology from the original P4's in notebooks to focus on power managment and then kicked in some extra marketing to make inroads into the wireless market. It is a P4 core but if your dad had an early p4 notebook it's kind of hard to accept, hmm my clockspeed went down but my performance gets better? enjoy. |

Question regarding the accidental damage coverage: If I don't put it on the initial order, but then want to add it on within a couple of weeks, would Dell allow me to do so?
*EDIT* Nevermind, found answer on Dell site. Within 30 days it can be added. |

I need a laptop for 4 tabling and taking to class. 6000 the best bet?
Also, I've heard some bad things about Dell quality before. Are these the best laptops or just the cheapest? |

If I remeber correctly you can in the first 30 days. However I'm no expert as I have just taken the risk on my own and never purchased the coverage.
If I was going to however, I'd purchase at the point of sale because I've never had much luck modifying warranties after the initial sale with anything. THey always seem to get loused up. |

[/ QUOTE ] They definetly aren't the cheapest. Though with this kind of coupon they may be for a bit. All of the tier 1(IBM, DELL, HP) vendors run pretty close for quality, it floats around a bit from year to year, but you rarely have much problem with the hardware and when you do all of them will take care of it. |

There are a few addons I do not understand. Could someone explain to me their use as well as if they are necessity or a luxury. Also tell me if this is an ideal labtop
I want to get the Inspiron 6000 base price $1,092 upgrade to 512 upgrade to 60gig upgrade to dvd-r FREE 64MB Dell USB Memory Key w/ 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery(80 WHr) [add $99 or $3/month1] Free Memory Key with purchase Is this necessary, as well as the extra add on battery. Other then that I have no other upgrades to my computer which comes out to approximately 750$, is this a good computer and a good deal? My real question is the bluetooth, what is it, is it necessary? Sorry if this sounds like jibberish I haven't showered in days. |

My real question is the bluetooth, what is it, is it necessary? [/ QUOTE ] Without being overly flip, if you don't know what it is then you don't need it. A little more detail: Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication protocol. A lot of cel phones these days have bluetooth so they can use things like wireless headsets (and sync to bluetooth-enabled laptops, etc). Laptop-wise, it's useful for things like wireless keyboards and wireless mice, but unfortunately at the moment wireless Bluetooth keyboards and mice are about twice as expensive as their wireless RF counterparts (which are 2-3 times more expensive than the wired versions). I wouldn't spend the money, unless you already have or are looking at purchasing a bluetooth-enabled phone. And even then, it might not be worth it. |

Is there a difference between the 2200 and 2915 wireless cards?
Also, is it worth it to get the 9-cell over the 6-cell? I'd imagine that the laptop would be plugged in a large portion of the time. What is the length of battery use for each respective battery? Thanks. |

Ok, so there's this coupon, and signing up through fatwallet.com gets you like 3% off, and can't you sign up for a Dell something and get some more off? Anything else that can help save some $$$?
