I visited every casino (other than Trump Marina) on my most recent trip to AC this weekend (just to get a feel for AC, since I dont know it at all). Here are my recollections

AC Hilton - no poker room
Tropicana - large poker room, but limit games all 10/20 or below
Trump Plaza - no poker room
Caesars - no poker room
Claridge - no poker room
Sands - medium sized room, but crappy and claustrophibic, very small stakes only, almost no daytime action
Ballys - no poker room
Resorts - medium sized poker room, but action seemed limited during the day. Could be okay at night, since the casino is pretty nice
Taj - enormous room, full of scumbags, every game you'd want
Showboat - no poker room
Borgata - large poker room about the size of the Tropicana, larger games go regularly here
Trump Marina - d/k
Harrahs - small poker room, but full with a list. Small action only. Not set up for comps.

Bottom line: Tropicana, Taj, and Borgata are the only places to play if you want action over 4/8. I'd add Harrahs or Resorts in as reasonably pleasant rooms for small stakes games.

Bally's has a 10-table poker room on the 6th floor, next to the racebook. low limits, smoking permitted.

Showboat will have a sizable poker room open late summer inside their House of Blues expansion.

no poker room at Trump Marina.

I must have missed the room at Ballys. I walked the floor pretty fast, and got the hell out since the whole Wild West thing was freaky.

It's hardly a bad neighborhood.

Disclaimer; There is significantly less parking there than used to be. I drove past it on Saturday, and the municipal parking lot that was on the opposite corner is gone.

But definitely go there.

The new Johnny & Hanges texas weiners in Atlantic City is on Atlantic Avenue near the Tropicana. From the White House Sub Shop you would make a right on Atlantic and proceed three or four blocks. It would be on the left side of the street across from a large Catholic Church and diagonally across from the Police Station.

thanks for the very good feedback, both for casino and food

Now, I've been reading older posts about AC and it seems the line can be pretty long. I will be there at the end of july, beginning of august, I assume there's going to be a lot of tourists there.

I was planning to spend the day on the beach to avoid the casino regulars and play at night when the tourists are there, but will it be possible without waiting for hours in line?

Any advice on optimizing my time of play?
