Strategy #2 for sure. Preflop stength is the backbone of a winning poker player's game and the expert player would be able to judge situations more clearly than the novice. This alone makes #2 the better choice.

Good answer. My initial thought was just to make sure the expert played the turn. But, among other points, David's comment about the expert selecting hands knowing the novice will be playing them adds a lot of strenth to the "strategy 2" side. The expert can select hands with a mind to keeping the novice out of trouble, and to setting up his own play later in the hand. The novice might make preflop mistakes, such as failing to 3-bet to get a certain hand head up, which would make the expert's postflop job more difficult.
