Re: Preflop limping quiz
I think you should have a raise option for #3, although it's certainly not an option I would always choose.
I think they're all pretty close except I almost always play JTs in an unraised pot. But I'd be looking at specific stats for opponents who limped in front and left to act for any of these really before making a decision. |

Re: Preflop limping quiz
I limp with every one of those most of the time except UTG with j10s...I will some times get agressive with a hand like the j9s with a weak limper in front but very seldom

If you have one limper in, plus you, plus the two blinds, thats 4 way action. [/ QUOTE ] You always play from SB? You should not play many more hands from SB than from a non-blind position. [ QUOTE ] IF you have two loose passives (VPIP 50+, PFR < 5) [/ QUOTE ] This means they play 50% of their hands, not 100%. They're more likely to limp because the pot seems to get multiway though. Nut if there also is a couple of TAGs behind (there will be most of the time) the risk is that they raise is pretty big which could fold both the blinds and loose players, giving you 3 way action. You can only VERY rarely assume 6 players to the flop when you act after 1 limper. With the reads I gave assuming 6 players to the flop would be silly. Of course I know it's depending on the table but given those rough guidelines you could answer with a the standard decision in this situation. |

Some analysis
Looking at results so far there are only one thing that suprises me.
Hand 1 (J9s): Fold: 14 Limp: 7 (1 easy) Hand 4 (JTs): Fold: 6 Limp: 15 (7 easy) There are a big differance between these hands. JTs seems to be an easy limp UTG for many players while J9s from MP1 after 1 limper is marginal but the majority wants to fold. I think the differance between these are very slim. The presence of a limper means a lot IMO since I won't be isolated by a TAG nearly as often when limping 2nd in. Also if I get raised the pot will still end up multiway pretty often since the presence on the earlier limper. I suspect that limp JTs UTG is some kind of standard posters use and because of that it becomes easy, but I actually think it's not better than limping in hand 1 (not saying any of these hands are folds). Thoughts? |

Re: Preflop limping quiz
BTW, if you have 5 tags at a table....unless the other 5 are uber fish...time to find a new table.

Re: Some analysis
I do not play 3/6 so I am not fully qualified. However, I agree with your ideas Royale (regarding JTs UTG vs. J9s in MP).

Re: Preflop limping quiz
Oh crap so I'm not the only guy with vpip > 15 at Party 3/6. And I must say 13.3 is pretty low.
The hands that I'm most likely to play here is Hand #1, Hand#4, then Hand#5. |
