Bet/fold. Betting is better here because of the possibility (slim, but it's there) that a small flush will fold.

Good reasoning, Kumobou.
I agree with your post, and I'm changing my recommendation to match yours. Bet-call is the best line here. |

I'm talking about absolutely pathetic clubs -- like someone holding the nut low flush. I doubt even fish would chase that -- maybe not (or maybe they'll just call down, because that's what they do). What is the biggest card you would expect a reasonable player to fold for one bet? A Ten? 9? 8? You aren't likely to get rid of any paint (especially when the K and J are already out). -K [/ QUOTE ] Well, flip it around: What hand with a weak club would a reasonable player still be in the hand with? I honestly can't think of any. I just don't think someone who decided to chase with whatever hand they had will fold for one bet on the river when their miracle (might have) came through. The only hands I could see a reasonable player with are things like JT and QT; maybe hands like 78 or T9, but the former is a stretch because in this scenario, it would have to be off-suit and I don't know that a reasonable player would play 78o. *shrugs* |

Check the river. The idea of folding out a small flush is silly against default players. The only time I would bet here is if UTG+1 is a bad player and UTG+2 is a good player. In that case, the good player might not overcall with a flush but this is the exception.

The other nice thing is that a bet might scare a really small club out,
This is crazy. I'm calling with a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in this spot and I'm a tight player. The pot is effin big and you have a flush...you are not folding for one bet. Drunk Brad |

if i'm the first villain to call hero's bet, i'm not folding any club (as hero has been betting the whole way and chance hero has club <<< pot odds)
second villain to call - i'll be folding anything lower than 10 - lower than k if villain 1 raises i don't know if hero's "river equity edge" is correct or even relevant. what's important is whether our river bet has positive expectation (i.e. will worse hands call us so that our bet makes money). villains may also bluff if checked to, as well as not bet a small/medium club on the river (saving hero $$$) just stirring discussion here - i see both sides |

If you check, and UTG+1 bets, with UTG+2 folding, do you call? If you check, and UTG+1 bets, with UTG+2 calling, do you overcall? If you check, UTG+1 checks, and UTG+2 bets, do you call? Obviously you can fold to a bet and a raise, but does the possible bet's location affect your decision? Should it? |

I will check this one. The "low flush might fold if you bet" is absurd, like Shillx pointed out.
But I don't know what to do next. If UTG+1 bets and UTG+2 calls, I might even fold. |

Call no matter what. Also call two cold if a good player raises. Bet-folding sucks because you might get bluffed out. I like bet-calling a ton more then bet-folding. I like check-calling even more.

Wow, you really call two cold here against a good player? You think your hand is good 1 in 7 times after a bet and a raise on a 4-flush board? Say you call these two, and then UTG+1 3bets. You have to call that one too now?
